Today begins Thanksgiving week. A week that we, as a country, reflect on the Pilgrims who sacrificed their lives in the hope of freedom to worship. They gave up everything they knew for the unknown, trusting for something better. Had it not been for their sacrifice, their bravery…well…have you ever wondered what a different world this would be?
They gave everything, in faith, believing God would provide.
Do you have that kind of faith? Do you believe God can and will provide for your every need? Do you thank Him for what He has done? His goodness is all around. Do you take the time to notice?
Psalm 95:1-6King James Version (KJV)
95 O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
3 For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.
5 The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.
6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.
God created the Heavens and the Earth. He knows every galaxy and He sees the very core of the earth. He knows every living thing from the largest to the smallest, even in the deepest darkest part of the sea. He commands the sun to rise and the moon shine. He takes care to feed the smallest of birds and dresses the fields with flowers. Don’t you think you can trust Him with your life?
The Pilgrims sacrificed everything ultimately giving us the country that we now call home.
God sacrificed His only Son so that we could have freedom in our hearts and, in the end, an eternal home with Him. Doesn’t that deserve Thanksgiving?
There are so many things to be thankful for this week, and every week. Take time to be grateful.
We come to You today, with thankfulness in our hearts. Thank You for the sacrifice of Your Son. Thank You that all we have to do is call on His name to have freedom in You.
Thank You for providing financially for those who are struggling.
Thank You for healing those who are sick.
Thank You for mending broken relationships.
Thank You for touching confused minds and restoring clarity.
Thank You for piecing back together the broken-hearted.
Thank You for Your protection.
Thank You for Your Peace.
You are a good God, worthy of our praise and thanksgiving.
