New Amish Friend: Katie S.

Next weekend, I will be headed back to Lancaster to meet a new Amish friend, Katie S.. A Mennonite friend made the introduction and Katie has a room to rent at her farm. I will be renting the room so that I may come and go as I please during the year.  I’m looking forward to meeting Katie.  She was recently widowed and doesn’t like to live alone. I can’t wait to hear her stories and learn about her life.  She sounds so sweet on the phone.  I am looking forward to becoming friends with her and, hopefully, part of her extended family.

    1. Hi Jackie,
Of course I will share with you!!! You are one of the reasons I continue to go out to Lancaster. Of course, number one is that I love my Amish brethren. My heritage is so rich in the anabaptist movement, I simply love being near my people. But the other reason is you, my readers…You make it all so much more worthwhile! Knowing that you read and enjoy my writing means so much to me. You have no idea how you inspire me. All of my writing is true…true to my heart and my life. That makes it even harder to write a book. But thank you so much for following me. Hugs to you.

  2. I can not wait to read all about your comings and goings throughout the year, and of course the new fantastic books you’ll create because of it. Thank you for sharing it with us.

  3. I’m sure you will have a wonderful and blessed time with your new friend! I think it would be so awesome to have an Amish lady friend to visit or correspond with. I would love to hear all about their everyday lives. Looking forward to what you will be sharing with us! Thanks so much for sharing your writing with us!
