Now that the (un)official start of summer is here, it’s time to think about having friends over for BBQs, picnics, or just sitting around for a quick catch-up. That’s what The Amish Cookie Club is all about. Toss in some romance and four meddling mothers…you’re bound to have a good time.
I really enjoyed writing this series (yes, I’m working on book three now!). There’s nothing like some lively characters to make writing even more fun than it usually is. Edna is the unofficial leader of the group–a beacon of sanity and stability when pitted against Verna and Wilma, two friends who seem to enjoy bickering more than baking. And Mary is quiet and reserved, just like her daughter, Bethany.
People often ask if I write about people I know. The answer is yes…and no. I might find character traits of someone that suit one of the people in my novels. But, on the whole, they are MY characters and, as such, entirely made up. Of course, as often happens, people will see themselves in my characters and think I’m writing about them–which can be good or bad, ha ha.
But I’m not.
These four Amish mothers and their brood of children might resemble people YOU know because they seem very, very real. I’m looking forward to hearing back from everyone when you get your copy on Tuesday. Please let me know what you think of my new series! And the best form of flattery is to recommend my book to someone else. 🙂
Hugs and blessings on this beautiful Memorial Day Weekend from sunny (and hot) Florida.
